Christmas spirit at the holiday park
December has begun, and even though the weather is still a bit hesitant to embrace winter, the Christmas spirit is already in full swing at our park.
As soon as you walk towards the reception, you will see the lights twinkling and our festively decorated Christmas tree ready to welcome you. Inside, it feels warm and homely, while outside, there is the tranquillity that is so typical of De Mechelerhof.
Our team also enjoys this time of year. Marjo makes sure the reception area looks extra cosy and is happy to help you on your way with winter walking tips. Guido and Luca are also on hand to answer any questions you may have. Together, we hope to offer a warm welcome at a time when everyone could use a little light and cheer.
A few great December tips in the surroundings of Mechelen
- Take an afternoon walk through Mechelen or along the Geul, ideal for unwinding. Warm up with a coffee or a slice of vlaai (fruit flan) at one of the cafés in the village.
- From 6 December 2025, the nativity scene walks will start again. Throughout the hilly countryside, you will discover attractively lit nativity scenes and small scenes along centuries-old footpaths.
- For those who want to get into the Christmas spirit, there are various Christmas markets and small winter events in the region.
